We have just received the below from one of our sources, whilst mainly focused around the recent SOH incidents, interesting to see the number of small craft operating in the GOA as we know a number of your clients operate in this region.
The activity certainly seems to be picking up.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
Date: 13/07/2026
Location: Gulf of Aden
Vessel/s: BANIYAS – Oil products Tanker, Marshall Island, IMO 9838228.
Description: The tanker was approached by six small craft on the starboard side whilst underway South of Aden, Yemen. Five of the craft maintained a distance whilst one small craft closed in, prompting the Armed Security Team onboard to fire warning shots, resulting in the small craft moving away.
Damage: No damage or causalities.
ATTACKS
Date: 11/07/2026
Location: Oman
Vessel/s: GFS GALAXY – Container ship, Cyprus, IMO 9401271.
Description: Vessel was attacked East of Oman travelling through the Strait of Hormuz.
Damage: A crew member is missing. The vessel has sustained significant engine room damage as well as a fire onboard.

Vessel/s: STOLT MAGNESIUM – Chemical/Products Tanker, Liberia, IMO 9739317.
Description: The tanker was struck by a projectile on the starboard side engine room whilst underway Northeast of Qalhat.
Damage: Damage unknown. Captain confirmed no causalities nor environmental impact.

Vessel/s: AL BAHYAH – Crude Oil Tanker, Liberia, IMO 9937799.
Description: Vessel was reportedly targeted by an Iranian cruise missile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz whilst caused a fire to break out on board.
Damage: Material damage sustained due to fires.

Vessel/s: MOMBASA B – Crude Oil Tanker, Liberia, IMO 9739501.
Description: Vessel was reportedly targeted by an Iranian cruise missile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz whilst caused a fire to break out on board.
Damage: One casualty and eight injured. Material damage sustained due to fires.
